DUDHNOI: State Finance Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the residence of brave martyr Bablu Rabha and met his mother, wife, daughter and brother and offered deepest condolences to the bereaved family. He paid homage to the brave martyr.

The minister was given a memorandum by the people of Damra Patpara village and members of the family of the jawan regarding government job, paving the way from NH-62 to the martyr's residence and construction of a building in memory of Bablu Rabha. In this regard, minister Himanta Biswa Sarma discussed the issue with Tankeshwar Rabha, Chief Executive Member of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council, and said that he would take action to provide necessary facilities after May 2. Himanta Biswa Sarma was felicitated by Bhupali Rabha, the seven-year-old daughter of martyr Bablu Rabha, at the martyr's residence. MP Pallav Lochan Das, who accompanied the minister, and State BJP vice-president Pulak Gohai were also felicitated on behalf of the Damra Regional Rabha Students' Union and Rabha Mahila Parishad.

Replying to a question by media persons whether there was any possibility of lockdown in the State considering the spurt in COVID cases, the minister said that at present there was no possibility of lockdown in the state. The minister urged all persons above 45 years of age to get the COVID vaccine. On the other hand, if there was more COVID infection, primary schools would be closed, said the minister. On Tuesday, public offerings, tributes and memorial meetings were held at the residence of the martyr.
