Tamulpur: State Water Resources Minister Keshav Mahanta visited Mushalpur on Tuesday evening to take stock of the work of the water resources department in the district. He also took part in a review meeting at the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Baksa.
The meeting was presided over by Baksa Deputy Commissioner Ranjan Sharma. Chief Engineers of the State Water Resources Department, Barsing Rongpi (WE) and Abani Mohan Hazarika (Quality Control), Additional Chief Engineer-cum-CHD of BTC, Indrajit Kuli, and other officials were present in the meeting.
The minister took stock of the ongoing repair work of the embankment of the district. He also discussed the situation of the vulnerable areas affected by flood of rivers Pagladia, Marapagladia, Puthimari, Suklai and Kaldia. The minister laid stress on completion of repair work of embankment before the flood. He also asked officials to take necessary steps for the supply of fodder and fertilizers to farmers, to help farmers in selling vegetables and to ensure door-to-door supply of fish and chicken. He also asked officials to create awareness among masses to maintain social distancing during the lockdown period.
