Minister of State for Women & Child Development visits Dima Hasao

The Union Minister of State for Ayush & Women and Child Development, Dr Munjpara Mahendrabhai visited Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) of Zion village and Haflong Civil Hospital for inspection, where he was accompanied by the CEM of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa and the Executive Member i/c Medical, Samuel Changsan, on Thursday during his tour to Dima Hasao.

HAFLONG: The Union Minister of State for Ayush & Women and Child Development, Dr Munjpara Mahendrabhai visited Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) of Zion village and Haflong Civil Hospital for inspection, where he was accompanied by the CEM of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa and the Executive Member i/c Medical, Samuel Changsan, on Thursday during his tour to Dima Hasao.

In the morning hours, Dr. Munjpara held a meeting with the heads of departments of various line departments at the conference hall of Haflong Circuit House. A power point presentation was given by the Principal Secretary Thai Tsho Daulagupu where based on database presentation, the minister noted points which he assured will be pursued. He also suggested few inputs that needed improvisation. Responding to the requirement of rehabilitation centres in the district, Dr. Munjpara suggested that this might be incorporated during the implementation of newly-proposed project of medical hospital in the district as declared by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during his recent visit on October 28.

During his visit, the Minister interacted with the Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers in the review meeting held at District Library Auditorium hall, Haflong. During interaction, the Minister appreciated various activities conducted by the ASHA workers on the occasion.

The Minister stressed about supplementary nutrition needed to serve at the AWCs and also provided information regarding the causes and effects of anemia to the women and children. During the programme, CEM Debolal Gorlosa announced an increase of incentive of Rs 500 and scooty for best performing ASHA workers.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Thai Tsho Daulagupu, ACS, Secretary Partha Johori, Deputy Secretaries Rebecca Changsan and Prabhat Pegu, SDM & HO Medical and Health Services and other officials.
