DEMOW: Pijush Hazarika, State Water Resource Minister laid the foundation stones of 14 Roads of the 107 No Thowra Constituency. He reached his Constituency with a two-day programme on Sunday.
The foundation stones of the following roads of Thowra Constituency were laid on Sunday by Pijush Hazarika: Bokota Bahgarh to Ahom Gaon Road (1.05 km); Jawalating to Kutuhaguri Road (1.70 km); a road Khamun Road via Patia Gaon to Nemuguri Kharahat Road (2.06 km); another road from the Deoriting Tea Garden to the Barpial Habi Hallongoni Road (2.65 km); the road connecting Dimaruguri Gaon to Sepon Sunpura (1.75 km); Teteliguri Tinali to Halaguri Tinali Road (9.03 km); Kachumari Road via Demow Polytechnic (1.03 km); Kaliapani Field Road via Madhupur connected Road (1.47 km); Road from NH-37 Road to Majar Sharif Road (1.70 km); Palengi Kesuwani Road (1.55 km); Dhyan Chariali to Samarajan Road (2.30 km); Dhundarmukh Handique Road (2 km); Kachari Pathar to Nigani Ghat Road (1.15 km); and the road connecting Gajali Gaon (0.80 km).
These roads will be completed soon. After this function, Minister Hazarika said that Jorhat MP Tapan Gogoi, Former MLA's of Thowra Constituency Sushanta Borgohain and Kushal Dowari together were able to bring a package of around Rs 53 crore for Thowra Constituency. This package from the State Chief Minister will be utilised for the construction of roads and embankments. Work on these projects will commence within a month, said the Minister, adding that the State government will take steps for construction of RCC embankment at a cost of around Rs 15 crore in Thowra Constituency. He further said that approximately Rs 12 crore in the Constituency.
Also present during the meeting were Jorhat MP Tapan Kumar Gogoi, Lakhimpur MP Pradan Barua, and Jonai MLA Bhubon Pegu, and former MLAs of Thowra Constituency — Sushanta Borgohain and Kushal Dowari.
