During this programme, each of the 32 beneficiaries was handed over a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh as one-time financial assistance.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that though the government cannot compensate for the loss of a loved one, yet the one-time financial assistance would help to mitigate financial hardships of the widows to some extent and help them to lead a life of dignity.

"Those women whose husbands have died due to Covid-19 are entitled for availing benefits under this scheme.
