Minister reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission in BTR

Tangla: State Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah attended a review meeting with the officers of PHED and contractors of BTR region for the smooth progress of Jal Jeevan Mission in the five districts of Bodo belt at the Udalguri College Auditorium Hall on Friday. In the meeting, Baruah took stock of the difficulties faced by the government in completing the schemes and assured of resolving them. He also directed the departmental officers of PHED to expedite the process of implementation of all schemes as soon as possible to ensure that every family has access to potable drinking water. He further directed the contractors to complete the allocated works expeditiously and ensure better quality of work. The meeting was also attended by Paneri MLA and Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimari; Mazbat MLA Charan Boro, BTC EM Dr Nilut Swargiary, Udalguri Deputy Commissioner Dr. P Uday Praveen, BTC PHED Secretary, Dhiraj Saudak M Roy, Tangla PHED Executive Engineer, Akbar Ali Chowdhury among others.
