DOOMDOOMA: As part of celebration of the three-day long Tinsukia District Day (TDD), a wall book on paintings was inaugurated by Labour and Tea-tribes Welfare Minister Sanjay Kishan on Saturday at Thana Chariali of the headquarters town. This innovative measure could be translated into reality under the initiative of ADC Sushanta Dutta on behalf of the Tinsukia District administration and with active cooperation of Tinsukia Municipal Board and Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sanmilan. Leading artiste Mukul Dowrah and his team designed and sketched on the walls of both sides on subjects like the tradition, culture, education, health, road safety, water conservation, environmental pollution and its protection, clean Tinsukia, women empowerment, abolition of child labour. The programme was also attended by DC Narsingh Power and his officials, Munindra Bordoloi and Rajendra Koiri, the Chief Executive and President, Tinsukia Zila Parishad respectively, leading citizens and students.

DC Power felicitated artiste Mukul Dowrah on behalf of the district administration. Thereafter a signature drive on 'Swachha Tinsukia' (Clean Tinsukia) was undertaken. Again in keeping with the celebration of TDD, a 'Selfie Point' was also inaugurated there at Thana Chariali.
