BONGAIGAON: The Minister for Handloom and Textile and Guardian Minister of Chirang district, Urkhao Gwra Brahma on Wednesday visited Sishubari village and met the flood-affected people along with Joyanta Basumatary, MLA of Sidli, and Rwngwra Narzary, working president of United People's Party Liberal (UPPL).
Talking to mediapersons, he informed that a total of 113 families consisting of 538 members were displaced from Sishubari village and presently were taking shelter in makeshift tents at the safe site of their village and in Udalguri LP School. He also said that he had interacted with them about the problems presently being faced by them and promised to ensure all possible help from the State as well from BTC authority. He instructed the Chirang District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to take special attention for safety, security and special care for women, children, sick and elderly people by providing adequate relief materials, medicines, baby food, potable drinking water and sanitation facilities.
