GUWAHATI: Another
tragic incident has occurred in Dibrugarh of upper Assam when a 12-year old boy
drowned in to Buridehing River at Jokai Khamtighat area.
The incident took place on Thursday.
Soon after the minor boy identified as Ayushman Dowerah gone missing, a missing case was filed with the Milan Nagar Police outpost in Dibrugarh.
According to reports, the minor boy who was a resident of Chowkidinghee, was last seen at Jokai Khamtighat area with his bicycle.
Locals are suspecting that the boy went missing after he went for swimming at Buridehing river.
However, the bicycle and sleepers of the boy found near the bank of the river.
After the incident SDRF and NDRF team rushed to the spot and started a search operation to rescue the boy.
"Right now we can't say anything as search operation has been going on. NDRF and SDRF have been carrying out the search operation," said a police official.
Earlier two minor girls drowned after they reportedly slipped in the Brahmaputra river. The incident took place in the outskirts of Dergaon near Hutar village of Shikali Chapor under Majuli constituency. According to details, the minor girls who were aged around 6 to 7 years old are suspecting that they fell in the river due to slipping after they were playing near the bank of the river.
