Minor Girl Commits Suicide After Receiving Rape Threat in Assam

Guwahati: A juvenile girl in Nagaon district's Dhing region committed suicide after receiving rape and death threat.

The incident occurred after the eighth-grade girl turned down accused Nazmul Haque's love proposal. After repeatedly being rejected by the victim, Nazmul allegedly began threatening the girl with murder and gang rape.

According to reports, the accused abused the girl emotionally, and she attempted suicide by ingesting poison out of fear and humiliation.The girl was taken to Nagaon Civil Hospital in a severe condition and afterwards transferred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, where she died.

The victim's relatives filed a FIR against the accused, Nazmul Haque. Furthermore, the officials at the school where she was a student asked that the perpetrator be punished severely. 

Earlier in October, one of the three males involved in the kidnapping and gang rape of a female student in Dibrugarh was caught by the Assam Police. The accused detained has been identified as Aryan Das, who attended the same college as the victim and is a close friend of hers.

According to the female student's complaint, Aryan Das gave her a lift on his scooter, but before they arrived at school, he claimed the vehicle had broken down. Pabitra Hazarika, Aryan Das's brother-in-law, and one Debajit Das then offered them a ride in their automobile, when the female student was served a spiked drink. 

The female student knew what had happened when she awoke, but the three had threatened to destroy her family if she told anybody about it. Additional SP for Dibrugarh According to Bipul Chetia, "He would frequently pick her up from home and drive her to college on his scooter. However, he claimed to have run out of gas one day and came to pick her up in a relative's car. He handed her a laced drink, which she drank and passed out from. She awoke nude in a locked room when she regained consciousness."
