Miscreant with Indian hog deer arrested in Biswanath Chariali

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Md. Abdul Ali, son of Md. Sabu Hoque, Bhulakota, Biswanath Ghat was arrested from the Burigang River on Sunday with an Indian hog deer in connection with hunting and transportation of Schedule 1 animal.

In the name of firewood collection, the miscreant illegally entered the protected area by a country boat and captured the distressed animal on Sunday morning from the River Brahmaputra for the purpose of consumption. Based on specific input, he was chased and finally arrested by forest personnel led by Range Forest Officer of Central Range, Iqbal Hussain at Burhigang Nala near Bhulakota with the country boat concealing the deer under firewood.
