Mising Bane Kebang holds workshop in Dhakuakhana

LAKHIMPUR: A special meeting was organized on Monday by Mising Bane Kebang (MBK) in association with Subansiri regional units of Takam Mising Porin Kebang (TMPK), Takam Mising Mime Kebang (TMMK) and Mising Mimag Kebang (MMK) at Surya Sinte Memorial Cultural Centre located at Kumbang under SubansiriGaonPanchayat area. The meeting was organized in order to hold discussion to execute the recommendations of the Gogamukh Declarations adopted by the 36th session of Mising Bane Kebang.

The meeting commenced with Mising Autonomous Council (MAC) chairman Sunil Pegu in the chair wherein detailed discussion was held on the resolutions of the Gogamukh Declarations taken to keep the Mising culture, religious festivals and other rituals alive in its original form. MAC chief executive officer ParamanandaChayengiya attended the meeting as chief guest. In his speech he laid stress on continuing the Mising cultural heritage in its original form by safeguard it from the impact of the imported culture. In this regard, he appealed to the community people to be aware and to follow the native culture strictly.

On the other hand, a workshop on the same subject was organized at DhakuakhanaKherkota College under the auspices of Mising Bane Kebang in association with Dhakuakhana district units of TMPK, TMMK and MMK on Sunday. In the workshop, DhakuakhanaZilaParishad member Indra Kumar Chungkrang and MAC chairperson Sunil Kumar Pegu took part as resource persons.
