LAKHIMPUR: Mising Bhasar Barna-Sankhyar Parichay, authored by Rajib Baruah, a writer-cum-senior journalist of Dhakuakhana under Lakhimpur district, was released in a brief programme organized on Sunday.

With this book, the author has targeted the people Mising community who want to learn the Mising language enriched with standard grammatical knowledge, and those non-Mising people who intend to learn the language correctly. The book is the outcome of the experiences which the author has gathered while carrying out various activities among the Mising community people in the past years and the knowledge which he has gained by studying the language for three years.

The book release programme was held at the residence of Nitan Gogoi, located at No. 1 Hiloidari village of Dhakuakhana subdivision, by strictly adhering to the COVID-19 protocol laid down by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In the programme, the book was jointly released by retired Vice-Principal of Dhakuakhana College, literary figure Dimbeswar Gogoi and former chief secretary of Mising Xahitya Xabha, Ileswar Doley.

Attending the event, two executive members of Mising Xahitya Xabha, Dulal Pegu and Lakhinandan Pegu respectively, retired teacher of Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra Sankardev High School-cum-former executive member of Mising Xahitya Xabha Deba Kumar Morang also delivered lecture on the occasion. Rajib Baruah stated that the book would mainly help and benefit the non-Mising people while learning, writing and speaking the Mising language correctly. The book has been published by Niyar Prakashan of Dhakuakhana.
