GUWAHATI: In a daredevil act, an Assam woman has started a trip to reach Ladakh from her village in Mirza, Kamrup on foot.
Under Mission Fit India, Anjali Das, a married woman, started the exciting trip on August 13 this year on foot.
She aims to pass 2,796 km in her journey to the hilly terrain. Taking a traditional Assamese gamocha on her neck the brave woman started her mission.
"I will aim to walk 50km daily during my journey. I will complete the trip alone", she said to the media on the eve of her journey. Surprisingly, she aims to complete her trip without any help from medics, security personnel, or an ambulance.
It could be noted that Anjali Das is the first Assam as well as the Northeast woman who takes this daunting task. She is also a sports aficionado and involved with some sports.
" I will not stop my trip to Ladakh under any circumstances be it rains or other natural adversity", she added and called upon the people of Assam to remain alert to check the COVID-19 infection.
In the last 4days, he has walked almost 140 kilometers and reached Kokrajhar, the last district of Assam to the West Bengal border. By Wednesday, Anjali Das will cross the Assam Border. She aims to walk at least 40 kilometers per day. She aims to cover the distance of 2800 kilometers from Assam to Ladakh in 90 days.
The braveheart lady also aims to spread tourism in Assam and Northeast in her journey.
Anjali said, "I want to make people aware of the benefits of walking. This will be a lifetime experience for me to know my India. I want to spread peace and brotherhood amongst the people of my country."
She said if I get a little help from somebody, I will be happy to walk the entire country. Hopefully, Anjali will be able to achieve her aim.
