Mission Soulful Sivasagar welfare projects will usher in transformation

GAURISAGAR: The Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management (Independent charge) and PWD (State), Government of Assam, Jogen Mohan, during the district-level celebration of the 71st Republic Day at Boarding Field, Sivasagar, briefed about the welfare schemes initiated and implemented by the State Government for the growth and development of the district.

Highly lauding the projects of the district administration taken under ‘Mission Soulful Sivasagar’, the minister appreciated Deputy Commissioner Dr. MS Lakshmi Priya for her efforts in the overall development of the district through various projects. Referring to the steps taken under the umbrella initiative of Mission Soulful Sivasagar, the minister handed over diapers and saplings for newborn babies to the Superintendent of Sivasagar Civil Hospital under the projects ‘Kunhi’ and ‘Morom’. He also distributed sitting mats and toys made out of used tyres for the children of the Anganwadi center of No. 1 Town LP School.

Further, he distributed sanitary napkins and blankets for the inmates of the shelter home Koumudalaya. He also appreciated the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar for the distribution of 1,000 raincoats to the needy farmers of the district. During the central programme at Boarding Field, in a generous move, the minister offered financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to the 10-year old partially blind and deaf girl of Kaloogaon, Akhtara Rahman. He also appreciated other projects like Project Nirmal, Project Lakshya, Project Adhyayan, Project Kunhi, and Project Khelo Sivasagar Khelo and said that the State Government would extend full support in significant development of the district as well as for the projects being taken up by the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar through Mission Soulful Sivasagar.
