MLA Akhil Gogoi reviews schemes and projects in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi chaired a meeting with heads and officials of various departments at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Sivasagar on Tuesday. The meeting was organized with a view to reviewing the status and progress of various ongoing welfare schemes and projects in the district.

During the meeting, Gogoi discussed in length about the status of various ongoing schemes, such as, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Taking stock of the schemes initiated under City Infrastructure Development Fund (CIDF), Gogoi urged the authorities to utilize the fund judiciously so that common grievance of the people of the town could be addressed. He asked to accelerate the pace of the works undertaken in CIDF. Besides, Gogoi urged to prepare plans for improving parking facility and beautification of the constituency. He also urged the agriculture department to make the sector more innovative. He urged the department to prepare plans to set up a developed 'ripening centre' in the constituency.

Gogoi asked to submit a detailed report regarding available facilities and infrastructure status of the Anganwadi centres. He appealed to the district administration and officers to put their best efforts for all-round development of Sivasagar constituency and to make it a tourist hotspot.
