BISWANATH CHARIALI: The foundation stone of the Garbha Griha of Bishnu Mandir, Biswanath Chariali was laid by Pramod Borthakur, MLA of Biswanath on Sunday. The temple will be renovated at a cost of Rs 10 lakh received under the Asam Darshan Scheme of Government of Assam. Later addressing a gathering, the MLA said that six religious institutions of Biswanath have been benefitted under the said scheme. Highlighting the developmental schemes being undertaken by the government, he said that the State government is committed to fulfill its promises made to the people of Assam. He also informed that the Chief Minister would pay a visit to Biswanath Chariali on February 22 to lay the foundation stone of Biswanath Police Reserve. The meeting was conducted by Niranjan Sharma, Secretary, Biswanath Brahman Samaj while social workers Tilak Sharma, Deben Chandra Bhagawati, Jogen Sharma, Nitya Sharma and others were present on the occasion.
