Mock drills on earthquake on August 17 in 100 schools across six educational blocks in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: To generate awareness around the precautionary measures to be taken in schools when hit by earthquakes under the Great Assam School Checkout Programme 2019, a meeting was held under the auspices of District Disaster Management Authority at the DC office on Tuesday.

In presence of the Inspector of the Schools of the district, officers of primary education, civil defence department and fire and emergency services department, it was decided to hold mock drills on the subject on August 17 in 100 primary, middle English, high and higher secondary schools across six educational blocks. In the meeting presided over by Additional DC (Disaster), Dipu Kumar Deka, it was also informed that a mock drill would also be conducted in seven fire and emergency service centres on how to avoid fire accidents and the things to do in the event of a breakout of a fire.
