Mock fire-fighting drill conducted by SSB 24 Bn at Hahara near Rangia

RANGIA: The SSB 24 Bn camped at Hahara near Rangia on Friday conducted a mock fire fighting drill at the camp where the jawans demonstrated the different ways to fight against fire.

The fire fighters of the unit displayed several rescue techniques during fire accident occurring due to oil, gas and electric equipment. They also demonstrated use of different types of fire extinguishers to neutralize the fire from different sources. The fire fighters also showed how to rescue the injured who suffer burn injuries during fire and how to shift them to hospital.

The mock drill was attended by Hrishikesh Sarma, Commandant of SSB 24 Bn, who appreciated the demonstration and entire fire fighting team of the unit. He explained how a small spark might convert into a major fire accident in a twinkle of an eye and how to act in this adverse situation without panicking.
