BOKAKHAT: In line with the five guarantees that Congress party has released as its manifesto on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the grand old party of giving "false guarantees" when it was in power both in the Centre as well as in the State.

Modi stated that the Congress has failed to provide security and stability in the Northeastern state of Assam, whereas the Bhartiya Janata Party BJP has ensured that there is peace and stability in the region.

Accusing the Congress of spreading 'lies' through the five guarantees the PM said that the party can go to any extent to grab power in the state. "While the Congress Government was both in the centre and the State there was double neglect, double corruption and double infiltration", he said will alleging that the party has given false guarantees of providing employment and women empowerment.

"However, the double engine NDA government both in the Centre and the State have ensured that the foundation of development is laid and the state is connected with the rest of the nation," Modi said while assuring that the region will witness more development in the next five years if the BJP comes to power.

The PM also said that the "Congress means lies, confusion, instability, violence and corruption. The party's coffers are empty and they want to come to power at any cost to fill it."

PM Modi was addressing an election rally at Bokakhat in Golaghat district where he was campaigning for its alliance party Assam Gana Parishad's AGP President and Assam Agriculture, Horticulture & Food Processing, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Minister Atul Bora.

Meanwhile, Bora will face Pranab Doley from the Anchalik Gana Morcha (AGM) the newly formed regional party under the aegis of Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan, who is in alliance with the Congress 'Mahajoot'.
