TINSUKIA: The Gauhati High Court, acting on PIL no 35/20 on Tuesday that challenged the Environment Clearance accorded to Oil India Limited for drilling 7 hydrocarbon oil wells in and around Dibru-Saikhowa National Park in Tinsukia district and which was stayed earlier by the court on December 11, 2020, was apprised that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) did not file their responses.

The Bench comprising of Chief Justice Sudhansu Dhulia and Justice AM Bujarbarua, while granting six weeks' time to file their responses, fixed the matter on March 25, 2021 but with a condition that if no response was filed then on that date, the Secretary of Petroleum Ministry and Secretary of Environment Ministry and Member Secretary SPCB should remain present personally before the court with all relevant records so that the matter can be finally disposed off, informed petitioner's advocate.
