Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad severely condemned Manipur incident

TINSUKIA: The Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad severely condemned the barbaric incident of Manipur. In a statement to the press, general secretary Runjun Moran, said that in the days of BJP-led government, which has been spearheading Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, has not only stripped the two women and knelt down to earth only Manipur, but the entire civilized human society. The Parishad demanded immediate intervention of Supreme Court, President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister and Home Minister to identify and punish all those involved in the brutal mass rape of women. As the security of women is in crisis at the backdrop of Manipur’s shameful act, the organisation demanded to ensure women’s protection, security and constitutional, legal rights and dignity of women and to set an example of good governance .The on-going Monsoon session of Parliament should take action in favour of an immediate investigation into the Manipur incident and severe punishment of the perpetrators. They also urged the National Commission for Women and the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes to bestow justice on the victims while demanding the central government to take immediate action to restore peace and harmony in Manipur.
