Morigaon DC Prakash Ranjan Gharfalia launches Rashtriya Poshan Maah

MORIGAON: Along with other parts of the country, the celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Maah-2021 and Matru Vandana Saptha-2021 under PMMVY were formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Prakash Ranjan Gharfalia at DC's conference hall today.

In Morigaon, the programme was organized by the Morigaon district social welfare department in association with the Morigaon district administration. The Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp at the conference hall of the DC's in presence of the ADCs, DSWO Santosh Kutum, COs, officers of various line departments and CDPOs of five blocks, coordinators of PMMVY, Mahila Shakti Kendra, Poshan Abhiyaan and Unicef.

In his brief speech, the DC asked all AWWs to be active by visiting all pregnant and lactating women under their jurisdiction to provide them with any help that they require.

Earlier the 'Poshan on Wheels' the bus sent by the State Poshan Abhiyaan that carried out a message of awareness on the mission which was formally welcomed by the CDPOs of Mayong and Laharighat Pronamika Phukan and Manika Kakati Bharali at Jagiroad. Later a street play on pregnant women was performed by AWWs at Gopal Krishna Tea Estate, Jagiroad.
