Morigaon Police initiated action against Minister Pijush Hazarika

JAGIROAD: The Morigaon Police has initiated action against the Health and Family Welfare (State) Minister Pijush Hazarika who is also the BJP's Jagiroad candidate after an FIR was lodged by two Jagiroad-based journalists who alleged that the Minister had threatened them of dire consequences following an election campaign story telecasted by two news channels on April 1. It is learnt that a case under section 500, 506 and 341 has been registered against the Minister and the mobile phones of the two journalists and the PA of the Minister have been seized. The statement of the two journalists was recorded and the Minister was also called for recording his statement at Jagiroad PS. Meanwhile it is learnt that the voice recording of two mobile phones have been sent to forensic laboratory in Guwahati. Also police have provided personal security cover to both the journalists.
