Mother-Son Duo Ends Life in Assam's Bajali

Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, a mother and her kid were found hanging in their home in Assam's Bajali district.

Sikha Baishya, the deceased mother, and her three-year-old boy were discovered hanging from the ceiling at their Baghmara house.

Although the cause of Sikha's suicide has yet to be determined, her husband, Mridul Baishya, stated that she had been depressed for some time. Police arrived on the scene and took the victims away for post-mortem examinations, as well as starting an inquiry into the occurrence.

Meanwhile, Mridul Baishya filed an FIR in connection with the issue at the police station. 

In another recent incident, in Assam's Bajali district, a woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a pond with her three-year-old child.

Malabika Deka, Mahadev Barman's 30-year-old wife, has been identified as the deceased lady. The mother and her 3-year-old son jumped into a public pond in Assam's Bajali district's Naginipar section near the Sarupeta Police Out Post.

The bodies of the mother and son were recovered in the pond by the SDRF.

Authorities say the woman killed herself after an argument with her husband Mahadev about a family concern.

Meanwhile, a member of the woman's family has filed an FIR against her husband at the Sarupeta Police Out Post. The victim's body was sent to Barpeta's Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College for a post-mortem examination. The situation is now being looked into further.
