TINSUKIA: The Sadou Asom Mottock Yuba Chatra Parishad (SAMYCP), in association with its Tinsukia district committee, observed the 10th foundation day at Panitola Hindi English High School on Thursday with day-long events like felicitation, lecture programme and open session.

The programme began with chorus by child artiste followed by open session which was chaired by central committee president Satya Gohain. The chief advisor of the SAMYCP, Uday Sankar Mohan, while welcoming the guests, laid the mission of the Mottock ethnic body. With the sole objective to uplift the community in every sphere, the organization would continue to struggle for justice, Gohain stated. The meeting was attended by Saroj Gohain, chairman of Mottock Autonomous Council, social worker Ananta Chetia, renowned teacher Amrit Rajkhowa, besides others.

As invited speaker, Dr Devashis Bose, an economist of DDR College Chabua, spoke of motivational aspects on the current trend of education in the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic. He opined that the holistic improvement of Mottock community was possible only through granting of ST status to the community.
