My father had brought laurels to the nation & his sacrifices won’t go in vain: Didwmshri Basumatary

Guwahati: My father had brought laurels to the nation and his sacrifices won’t go in vain, stating this martyred Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Maneshwar Basumatary’s daughter Didwmshri Basumatary joined as an Assistant Tourism Information officer at the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) on March 7, 2019.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on behalf of Assam Government on March 3, 2019 had handed over the appointment letter to Didwmshri Basumatary at the Aaidya Shradha of martyred CRPF jawan Maneshwar Basumatary at Kolbari village in Tamulpur under Baksa district.

Daughter Didwmshri Basumatary along with her mother Sanmati Basumatary and other family members came down to Guwahati on last Thursday and joined as the Assistant Tourism Information Officer at Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd at Pan Bazaar in Guwahati.

Speaking to the media, mother Sanmati Basumatary said, “We offered our prayers in the morning hours and headed down to Guwahati along with our relatives. After reaching Guwahati, we met State Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma at the Assam Secretariat. Later, we moved to ATDC office and she formally joined the department as an Assistant Tourism Information Officer. I am really thankful to the Government of Assam for providing this opportunity to my daughter.”

Also, remembering the sacrifices of her late husband Maneshwar Basumatary who attained martyrdom in Pulwama Terror Attack on February 14, wife Sanmati advised her daughter Didwmshri to provide her best service in favour of the people acknowledging the sacrifices and ideologies of her martyred father.
