NAAC team visits Dibru College

DIBRUGARH: A NAAC peer team comprising of three notable academicians led by Dr. Avinash Tiwari, Vice- chancellor, Jiwaji University, Madhya Pradesh as chairperson, Dr. Smruti Ranjan Rath, Dean, AISECT University, Jharkhand as member co-ordinator and Dr. Pankaj Natu, Principal, Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research, Maharashtra visited Dibru College on May 10 and May 11 for 3rd cycle of the NAAC assessment.

The two-day visit was marked by presentation of college profile by Principal, Dr. Ranjan Changmai followed by presentations by IQAC co-ordinator, heads of various departments and committees of Dibru College. A visit to all the departments of the college, inspection of college facilities and sites were undertaken by the peer team and the day ended with an interaction programme with college governing body, parents, alumni association and students.

A cultural programme was presented on May 10 in honour of the team by the students of the college. The peer team held discussions with all the stakeholders of the college and held fruitful interactions with both teaching as well as non-teaching staff of the college and provided valuable advice.

The visit concluded with an exit meeting chaired by Dr. Ranjan Changmai who made the opening statement and Dr. Avinash Tiwari, chairman of the peer team shared some very meaningful anecdotes on how to learn from ‘people’s university’ and the concept of being a ‘guru’, apart from these the chairman also gave out valuable suggestions and observations for improvement.

Finally Dr. Tiwari handed over the official the NAAC report to the Principal and the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jayanta Saud IQAC co-ordinator, Dibru College.
