NABARD Organizes Workshop on Dairy Entrepreneurship in Sivasagar

GAURISAGAR: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organized a district-level workshop on Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) on Tuesday in Sivasagar. The programme was inaugurated by Nawab Al-Azhar Ali, District Development Commissioner (DDC), Sivasagar. A total of 45 participants took part in the programme. Inaugurating the programme, DDM Nawab Al-Azhar Ali discussed the sustainable livelihood of the farming community with the help of this programme. He also advised line department bankers, LDM, dairy cooperative societies and KVK to work together for the betterment of the farming community.

In his speech, Lakheswar Mahanta, DDM, NABARD, Sivasagar and Charaideo districts, also discussed the objectives of DEDS for the benefit of dairy farming. He highlighted that DEDS would generate self- employment and provide infrastructure for the dairy sector. Also, it will help to set up modern dairy farms and infrastructure for the production of clean milk. In the above programme, a presentation was made by NABARD on DEDS.

Dr. A Kesori, DVO, Sivasagar, also discussed the need and importance of DEDS for the benefit of dairy farmers. He urged upon the bankers to provide financial support to dairy farmers for their sustainable livelihood.
