GUWAHATI: In a recent development of the Nagoan firing case, the case has been transferred to CID and Nagaon Superintendent of Police Anand Mishra on this said that the government has taken the good decision as the CID investigation will now reveal the truth.

The SP had earlier raised questions about the alliance of Kriti Kamal Bora with the accused running the drug rackets named Zakir Hussain.

This comes a day after the Home and Political Dept of Assam has ordered Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta the Director-General of the state police to break the current 'Anti Narcotic Squad' formed by SP Anand Mishra.

Earlier Assam government had accepted the investigation report that was submitted by the additional chief secretary of Assam PK Borthakur. The report stated that the firing incident by Anti Narcotic Squad police officials on 22 January this year has resulted in causing severe injuries to Kriti Kamal Bora.

On speaking about the matter with the media, SP Mishra said that he welcomed the decision of the state government in handing over the case to the CID.

He said that he was absent when the operation took place and there could be some carelessness by a few of the police personnel so it's good that the case will be now investigated by CID and the inquiry will unveil the truth.

In addition, the SP questioned that if Bora is not associated with drug rackets and if he is innocent then why he was found along with the accused of the drug case and why he was protecting the accused person.

Mishra further stated that in case the police officials have done any mistake then it will be rectified but this doesn't give a free run to the drug racketeers in the state.

He said that though the Anti Narcotic Squad has been disbanded, the Nagaon police will continue their anti-drug operation to take action against drugs and its rackets prevailing in the state.
