Nagaon Police Decodes Fake Driving Licence Racket, One Arrested

Nagaon: The Nagaon Police has apprehended Ashraful Rahman for running a fake driver's licence business. This was a consequence of an earlier arrest of a man by the Nagaon Police for the possession of a fake licence.

The news of the arrest was informed by the Deputy General of Police of Assam, Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, on his official Twitter handle.

The DGP further shared that Ashraful Rahman had been running this racket from his own DTP centre. He added that Arshaful Rahman would be punished for his crime. He also emphasized that those who had their fake driving licence are equally guilty and police are looking for them.

The DGP has further urged those people who possess fake driving licences to come forward and has also promised to be lenient towards them.

Earlier, the Assam government had announced the extension of the validity of documents related to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, till 30th September 2021.
