Nagaon Police Reshuffle: Five Inspectors Transferred Amid Junmoni Rabha Death Investigation

GUWAHATI: Amidst an ongoing probe into the death Sub-Inspector Junmoni Rabha, Assam Government carried our another reshuffle in Nagaon Police department. The following Inspectors are moved with immediate effect by Superintendent of Police Nabaneet Mahanta in accordance with the district level board's decision for transfer and posting and in use of the authority granted by Section 46 of the Assam Police Act 2007.

1. Inspector (UB) Partha Pratim Singkon, O/c Kaliabor PS, is moved and appointed Officer-in-Charge at Nagaon PS.

2. Inspector (UB) Sanjit Kr Ray, O/C Rupahihat PS, is moved and appointed Officer-in-Charge at Kaliabor PS.

3. Inspector (UB) Ashim Borah, C.I. (W) Batadrava, is moved and appointed Officer-in-Charge of Batadrava PS.

4. Inspector (UB) Bularam Terong of OR is appointed Officer-in-Charge of Rupahihat PS.

5. The OR's Inspector (UB) Jackson Muchahary was assigned the position of CI (W) Batadrava.

On May 20, a few hours after Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa, the SP of Lakhimpur, and Leena Doley, the SP of Nagaon, were transferred, IPS Anand Mishra assumed charge as the new SP of North Lakhimpur and Nabaneet Mahanta assumed charge as the new SP of Nagaon. The SPs of Lakhimpur, Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa, and Nagaon, Leena Doley, have reportedly been transferred in the midst of the investigation into the accident that resulted in the death of Morikolong sub-inspector Junmoni Rabha.

Moreover , the next significant discrepancy to emerge from the continuing inquiry into the death of SI Junmoni Rabha is Sumit Pal's release on bail after he reportedly crashed into SI Junmoni Rabha's vehicle on May 16.

According to rumours, Sumit Pal has already arrived in Uttar Pradesh after being granted bail.

Surprisingly, Pal has not yet been questioned by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) over the strange death of SI Junmoni Rabha.

Three days after the alleged event, Sumit Kumar Pal, the driver of the container truck that struck SI Junmoni Rabha's car on the night of May 16, turned himself up at the Jakhalabandha police station.
