Nagaon town police seizes 10 cartons of illegal drugs

NAGAON: Acting on specific information, Nagaon town police led by SI Gaurav Mahanta, seized a large cache of illegal drugs from a Wagon R car near the Siyalmari Kutuwoni area in Nagaon town. Later, the police also seized the car (AS02C-8181) but the main accused who had brought the drugs was absconding till filing of this report.

According to sources, the town police had information about the illegal drugs and following the information, police launched a search drive in the Siyalmari Kutuwoni area. But the drug smuggler came to know about the special drive. He stopped the car and fled from the spot. Police later seized 10 cartons of drugs containing around 994 bottles of cough syrup from the car. They also seized the Wagon R car from the spot.
