TEZPUR: Nari Shakti plays a pivotal role in BRO organization and women officers are tenanting important executive appointment in difficult & remote areas. Lady Pioneers and female Casual Paid Laborers (CPLs) are working shoulder to shoulder with their men counterparts during execution of various roads/bridges construction activities. The prowess of Nari Shakti was again displayed during the upgradation of Pinjoli Bridge by Tezpur Project Vartak on Balipara-Charidwar-Twang Road.
A 180 ft Triple Double Reinforced (TDR) Extra wide steel decking Bailey Bridge at Km 49.871 on the strategic Balipare-Chardaur-Twang road in Arunanchal Pradesh was strengthened/upgraded by providing two additional transom per bay as per new GRSE manual for bailey bridge to entrance the load classification to 40 R. The upgradation work was completed well within the stipulated time frame of 03 days laid down by 91 RCC/14 TF of Project Vartak Tezpur. Further, a diversion of 1.10 km was also made before commencement of upgradation work in one day and work was planned during night so as to minimize inconvenience to the road users.
The upgradation was required to be carried to enhance the operational movement of the Armed Forces to the Tawang Sector. The upgradation work was planned to be completed within three days, stated a press release.
In order to ensure that the strengthening/upgradation works is completed within the stipulated time frame, resources including a gang of 35 CPL comprising of 15 women CPLs under a Woman Mate were mobilized at site. The power of Nari Shakti was seen at its best during this bridge upgradation exercise where Mate Rita Biswakarma alongwith her 15 women CPLs turned out to be a great motivating force for others during execution of the given task.
The upgradation was completed by on October 6, and traffic was restored from today.
