National Boro Christian Council condemns comments of YouTube channel on Bathou religion

KOKRAJHAR: National Boro Christian Council (NBCC), an apex organization of all Boro Churches expressed deep concern on the recent remarks of a YouTube channel Boro Christian Cartoon that has hurt the sentiments of Bathou religion. The NBCC rejected the comments of Boro Christian Cartoon and asked it to stay away from giving such religious statements in near future and called for retaining peace and brotherhood.

In an interview, the president of the NBCC Rev. Dr. Arjun Basumatary and vice president Rev. Sushil Daimari expressed deep concern on the statement made by Bodo Christian Cartoon on Bathou religion which said that the Bathou religion was not the first religion of the Bodos. They said, “We want to make it clear that we don’t know this Christian Cartoon and don’t support but condemn his view, an opinion which has hurt the sentiments of the leaders of Bathou religion.” They also asked the Boro Christian Cartoon to stay away from making such sensitive statements in the future by using the ‘Holy Bible’. They further appealed to the leaders of Bathou religion not to take this statement seriously but continue to work hard for making the Bodo community stronger through active participation through religious platforms as before.
