DEMOW: National Doctors’ Day was observed at Joint Director Health Services Office campus of Sivasagar district on Saturday. The Assam Medical Service Association (AMSA), Sivasagar Unit observed National Doctors’ Day at Joint Director Health Services Office campus of Sivasagar District on Saturday. Dr.Bhupendra Kumar Das, Joint Director Health Services, Sivasagar hoisted the flag. On the occasion a blood donation camp was organized which was inaugurated by Dr.Bhupendra Kumar Das, Joint Director Health Services, Sivasagar.

The AMSA members of Sivasagar unit paid tribute and lit earthen lamps in front of the photo of Bharat Ratna Late Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy. Three retired doctors Dr.Prasanna Kumar Bordoloi, Dr.Elu Baruah and Dr.Hemanta Kumar Barua and one health employee name Mustafiz Ahmed were felicitated with a phulam gamosa and a citation on Saturday. Dr.Bhupendra Kumar Das, Joint Director Health Services, Sivasagar, Dr.Rupam Borkakoty, President of AMSA, Sivasagar Unit and Dr.Uday Rajkonwar gave their valuable speeches on Doctors’ Day.

DOOMDOOMA: Doctor’s Day, which marks the occasion of birth and death anniversary of noted physician and distinguished politician, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, was observed at Doomdooma by holding a blood donation and a cancer awareness camp separately on Saturday.

The voluntary blood donation camp held at Doomdooma 30 Bedded CHC FRU hospital by Assam Medical Service Association (AMSA), Tinsukia Unit was inaugurated by Dr. Jayanta Bhattacharya, Joint Director in-charge (Health), Tinsukia district, in presence of the Circle Officer (CO), Doomdooma Revenue Circle Rananmoy Bharadwaj.

More than twenty persons including the CO Rananmoy Bharadwaj, doctors and staff of Doomdooma CHC FRU hospital and others donated blood in the camp. The president of the Tinsukia District Unit of AMSA Dr. Alka Devi, the in-charge of the Doomdooma 30 Bedded CHC FRU Dr. Ashma Ghaznavi and medical officers Dr. Ranjit Bharali, Dr. Nirban Gogoi, Dr. Arshad Ahmed, Dr. Prabhat Borah and Dr. Rahul Talukdar were present in the camp.

On the other hand, Indian Medical Association (IMA), Doomdooma Branch, in collaboration with the Tinsukia District ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers, Rotary Club of Doomdooma and Doomdooma Press Club organised an awareness camp on breast cancer and cervical cancer at Doomdooma Natya Mandir on this occasion.
