National Integration camp concludes At Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The week-long National Integration Camp under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat programme held at the Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar concluded on Thursday. On the concluding day, a colourful cultural rally was held with the motto of unity in diversity.

Around 200 National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from 14 States from all over India and four universities from Assam participated in the seven-day event staring from February 14 to February 20. The camp included a series of events like learning of languages, yoga sessions, self defence, cultural evening, lectures, games, quiz and street play on various government policies.

Regional Director of NSS Guwhati, Deepak Kumar said that the camp provided scope for the youths to live, discuss and debate together and develop a better understanding of national integration and exchange fascinating aspects of culture, language, heritage and traditions to overcome religious and linguistic barriers. He said the Central Government’s Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat programme had been promoting India’s unity and diversity across the country. Such events aim to create nationwide opportunities for the youth, irrespective of their caste, creed and culture, to appreciate each other’s differences and promote a sense of unity.
