As announced by the Prime Minister of India regarding the ‘Vaccination Mahotsava’ throughout the country, the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar (CIT- Kokrajhar), Assam took active part in the programme.

KOKRAJHAR: As announced by the Prime Minister of India regarding the 'Vaccination Mahotsava' throughout the country, the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar (CIT- Kokrajhar), Assam took active part in the programme.

The programme was conducted from April 11, marking the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule, and concluded recently, which also marked the birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, against COVID-19 and mega vaccination of all citizens of the country above 45 years of age.

The NSS volunteers carried out a number of activities such as massive awareness campaigns on vaccination through SMS, and WhatsApp; making of posters and pasting them at prominent places in the adopted villages, meeting the village heads and asking them to conduct meetings among the villagers and encourage them to go for vaccination. The volunteers also went to the PHCs (Public Health Centres) and helped the Health workers during vaccination.

NSS Regional Director, Guwahati, Dipak Kumar constantly motivated and guided the members of NSS CIT- Kokrajhar. Registrar of CIT, Kokrajhar, Chaitali Brahma extended all possible help in organizing the programme. The NSS Programme Officers worked along with the volunteers during the various programmes. NSS programme coordinator, J.D.H. Basumatary successfully managed the event. The NSS volunteers also learnt a lot from the programme.
