National Unity Day observed on the occasion of birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai in Tezpur

TEZPUR: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel observed as National Unity Day, NSS cell, TU organized a 'Run for Unity' programme to invoke the feeling of peace and harmony among the fellow citizens of the country.

The programme started at 6.30 am. Dr. Amiya Kumar Das, Programme Coordinator, NSS briefly introduced the objectives of the celebration and encouraged the participants to develop the sense of commitment. Dr. Biren Das, Registrar, Tezpur University inaugurated the programme and flagged off the unity run. He also addressed the volunteers and motivated them to participate in the development and progress of the nation. More than 100 participants joined the programme.

Dr. Biplob Sarkar and Dr. Biswajit Das, programme officers, NSS, TU also joined the programme and appreciated the volunteers for their participation. To enhance the harmony and unity among students coming from different states, NSS cell, TU has been organizing various cultural and interactive sessions throughout the year. Under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative, students and NSS volunteers of the university are actively participating in various activities and programmes.
