National webinar on women's safety held by Imagix Creative Studio

Jamugurihat: Imagix Creative Studio, in collaboration with Tezpur University, conducted a national webinar on 'Women's Safety in India' on September 13.

Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Superintendent of Police, West Karbi Anglong and Abhijit Gurav, Superintendent of Police of Nagaon were the key speakers. During the course of discussion, topics like how safe are the Indian women, are Indian women empowered in the real sense, despite of rules and legal provisions why domestic violence against women is going up, were vividly discussed. Both the resource persons tried to touch upon each question asked by the participants during the webinar. Issues normally women face in daily life, like molestation in workplace, torture in the name of dowry, fetal murder girl child, child rape and abduction were widely discussed. Both the key speakers highlighted legal provisions of IPC and other constitutional safeguards for women's safety in India. More than 5,000 attended the webinar.
