'Natun Arunodoy' to be published from Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: A general body meeting of Arunodoy Shakha Xahitya Xabha of Sivasagar was held at the temporary office of Jengonikotia in Sivasagar on Friday.

The meeting was chaired by educationist Syed Hakiqur Rahman and attended, as an observer, by Santosh Dutta, general secretary of Sivasagar District Xahitya Xabha . Speaking as the guest of honour, Santosh Dutta said that Arunodoy Shakha Xahitya Xabha, which established in the year 2000 with literary workers from the western region of Sivasagar town, has been organizing commemoration meetings of three eminent litterateurs Dr Maheshwar Neog, Dimbeswar Neog and Dr Moidul Islam Bora, since its inception.

Subsequently, this Shakha Xahitya Xabha has been awarding a literary award to a litterateur in memory of the first doctorate of Assam, Dr Moidul Islam Bora.

He also informed that Sivasagar District Xahitya Xabha and Arunodoy Shakha Xahitya Xabha will jointly celebrate the death anniversary of Dr Moidul Islam Bora on May 5. Speaking on the occasion, Santosh Dutta called upon the office-bearers of the Arunodoy Shakha Xahitya Xabha to publish a quarterly journal, 'Natun Arunodoy'.
