GOLAGHAT: Nature Conservation Day was observed by Kaziranga Wildlife Society at the Robin Banerjee Auditorium, Golaghat on Monday. The Kaziranga Wildlife Society is one of the oldest conservation NGOs of Northeast India. Like the past years, the society organized the Dr.Robin Banerjee Memorial Lecture on the occasion of the doyen’s birthday on August 12. The society celebrates the occasion as ‘Nature Conservation Day’ every year.
This year the topic for the lecture was ‘Threats and challenges in conservation of mega species with special reference to Kaziranga National Park’. The programme was moderated by Indrajit Dutta, former president, and the opening remarks were presented by Mubina Akhtar, secretary of Kaziranga Wildlife Society.
