HAFLONG: In a significant development, the NC Hills Autonomous Council Authority (NCHAC) paid two months' salary to the council employees out of the seven months' pending salary.

Chief Executive Member, NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa stated on social media, "Salary for two months for Council employees have been paid and remaining pending salaries of Council employees would be cleared very soon."

CEM Gorlosa stated that due to the COVID situation during 2020-21 and recent natural calamities, revenue collection of the Council was affected. Despite that, Council authorities have been clearing salaries. Further, the present Council inherited 9 months' pending salary when it came to power. But with concerted efforts this has been reduced and in the near future he expressed hope that the problem would be fully resolved.

Extending his gratitude to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his team, Gorlosa stated that the State Government was also consistently providing support to them.
