TEZPUR: A 12-day hospital attachment for NCC Officers and SW cadets (Girls) along with instructors commenced from February 6 to February 18 at 155 Base Hospital, Tezpur. One ANO and 40 Girl Cadets of 73 Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC under Group HQ, Tezpur attended.

The cadets during their attachment will be put through military routine and discipline. Besides, military etiquettes, the girl cadets will also be put through classes on preventive health procedures, basics of patient management and overall functioning of a military hospital. They will also be put through various practical lessons on taking temperature, pulse, BP monitoring, wound dressing and other patient care procedures. Emphasis will also be laid on health issues with regards to women and preventive practices to be taken to avoid them.

Classes will also be taken on disaster management and assistance that can be provided to the disaster management forces in establishment of a hospital set up. The overall is to prepare the cadets for providing all kinds of assistance to the district administration during any calamity like floods, earthquake etc. and be flag bearers in their villages and towns by educating them about the importance of cleanliness and health.
