JAMUGURIHAT: To encourage the students to join in the nation-building process and to motivate them towards joining the National Cadet Corps (NCC), a special programme was organized at Dakhin Nagsankar High School on Saturday. The day-long programme began with the hoisting of the flag by Anjan Baskota, CTO (Caretaker Officer), Dakhin Nagsankar HS followed by a march past by the cadets. Before the open session, one minute silence was observed in the memory of CDS Bipin Rawat and others who had lost their lives in the recent helicopter crash and in memory of Bhaben Bora, an eminent artiste and educationist of Jamugurihat area. The main session was held with Ballav Chapagain, the headmaster of the school in the chair that began with the offering of floral tributes and lighting of earthen lamp in front of the portrait of CDS Bipin Rawat by Dr. Chintamani Sarma, principal of Biswanath College who graced the programme as a chief guest.
Mantush Chakrawarti, the Circle Officer of Naduar Revenue Circle graced the occasion as a guest of honour and delivered a lecture. During his lecture, he provided some tips for preparing for competitive examinations. Dr. Chintamani Sarma, the chief guest of the day addressed the students and said about the importance and significance of NCC in career building and nation building process. He also briefed about the design and structure of NCC.
