DIBRUGARH: The annual All India NCC NER Trekking Camp was held in Dibrugarh from January 14 to January 22 by the Dibrugarh NCC Group under the aegis of NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region, Shillong. The aim of the trek was to inculcate a spirit of adventure, instil self-confidence, foster camaraderie and encourage national integration amongst the NCC cadets participating from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and the north-eastern States.

A total of 485 cadets participated in the event over a period of eight days. They visited Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Ltd Factory, Jagannath Temple, Ethelwold Tea Estate, Anthropological Museum in Dibrugarh University and Dibrugarh Dyke. This exposure provided an opportunity to the cadets to understand the cultural heritage of the Northeast and visit various places of interest in and around Dibrugarh.

The Group Commander of NCC Group, Dibrugarh, Brig S K Lama in his address to the cadets, emphasized the importance of NCC, its role in the society and urged the cadets to become worthy citizens of the nation.
