NCHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa dismisses Congress demand for his resignation

HAFLONG: The Chief Executive Member, NC Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), Debolal Gorlosa dismissed the Dima Hasao DCC's demand for his resignation. He categorically said that Congress leaders like Kalijay Sengyung and Mahendra Kemprai could not decide his fate since his party had given him responsibility and the people of Dima Hasao had elected me for two consecutive terms.

Gorlosa was addressing a press meet held at his official residence on Sunday wherein he explained how the BJP-led council had been fighting against the coronavirus pandemic to save the people and most of the organizations of Dima Hasao had extended active support in the fight and to make the district coronavirus-free soon.

"I know how to reply to all these allegations made against me just to malign my image but I am not at all willing to do this since my entire team and NCHAC believe in serving the people during crisis. Yes, there has been charge-sheet against me as I was in a revolutionary organization but after I joined the mainstream as public leader I was not involved in any anti-social activity. I have been living a normal life and maintaining all the constitutional norms," said Gorlosa.

He added, "I want to suggest to my friends in the opposition to work with us for the betterment of the district instead of mud-slinging at each other during this pandemic. I assure all the people of Dima Hasao that I will abide by the verdict of the court and also my party's decision but not any media trial."
