APDCL Tezpur Circle's Negligence Poses Threat to Lives of Villagers, Passersby in

JAMUGURIHAT: A huge and old peepal tree between two parallel high-voltage power lines of APDCL at Chamdhara Panigaon under Jamuguri subdivision, Chariali Division (Tezpur circle) of APDCL, is posing serious threat to the villagers and the passersby.

The huge and moth-eaten branches of the tree stretching beyond the power lines are a real threat to the people living close to and around the tree. Besides, the tree may be uprooted by a storm and heavy rain at any moment. Despite frequent appeals from the people, the APDCL authority has taken no action for redressal of the issue and protection of lives from an imminent disaster. A couple of days back, a number of people had a narrow escape from being killed when a huge branch of the tree fell over the power lines.

The people of the area have demanded prompt action from the higher authority of the APDCL for trimming of the tree before occurrence of any untoward incident and loss of lives and property.
