GOALPARA: As part of the 75 years of Independence and Clean India Campaign 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav', clean India activities are being carried out in the entire district by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Goalpara. The campaign began on October 1 and will continue till October 31 involving local enthusiasts, clubs, associations and the volunteers of the NYKS. The targeted areas where cleaning activities are being carried out are primary health centers, panchayat offices, Anganwadi centers, government schools and in several post offices.

Apart from the above, many village ponds in rural areas were also cleaned as part of the programme. This mass drives were undertaken with the help of district administration, municipality office and PRI members. The NYKS Goalpara have mobilized more than 8,000 kg of waste and its safe disposal during the month long programme. Somnath Paul, district coordinator of NYKS, Goalpara has appreciated and congratulated all the volunteers who have contributed to complete this humongous task.
