JAMUGURIHAT: For the first time in India a one year diploma course in Nepali and six months certificate course in Nepali will be introduced in the Uttarakhand Open University; Haldwani from the upcoming session of 2021. The academic council of the university has taken this decision as per the nod received from the VC professor Om PrakashSingha. PRO of the university Dr. RakeshRai has been bestowed with the duty of preparing the study materials for the said course. It is to be informed that PRO Dr. Rai has initiated the task of preparing course materials in touch with Dr. KhagenSarma of Gauhati University along with other subject experts. Notably, the diploma and certificate course of the Nepali language will be introduced in Uttarakhad Open University along with Garwali and Kumauni language from 2021. Talking to this media person Dr. KhagenSarma, education secretary of Asom Nepali SahityaSabha stated that aspirants from Uttarakhand and any other region of India can avail the course. He further stated that the diploma course will carry a total mark of 400. And those who will pass the diploma course may apply for an assistant teacher's post of Nepali language in High schools with the help of the certificate. Any graduate or any HS pass candidate can apply for the said course. All relevant study materials will be provided from the university. Admission can be done by both online and offline mode. Two teaching posts will be sanctioned for the course by the university, he added.
